Hey! Wait a minute.
That Google powered Lenovo Smart Display is sexy and promises endless goodness. However, it has one fatal flaw that’s keeping me from adding a few to my home. From what I’ve read, then Smart Display does not support continued conversation. If you’re not familiar, Google’s continued conversation is a more human approach to interacting with Google Home devices. GHome is able to understand the context of a conversation so you can ask followup questions without having to say “OK, Google” between every question or command. For now, it appears that only Google branded products (Home, Mini, Max) support continued conversations. Lenovo has a version of this by typing continuation questions on the screen instead of listening for the next question.
So, should we wait for Google to release their own device or jump on a Lenovo now? I think I’ll wait and see what Google plans on releasing before the holidays… please, please, let their be a Pixel watch ;)
Also, doesn’t look like you can group this device with other Google Home devices for full home audio, for example.
