The stock market is on Google Home.
Google Home offers services from its own AI and from CNBC. I assume there will be more services in the future, but those are the two ways to get the basics today.
From Google Home
To do this: | Say “Ok Google” or “Hey Google”, then… | What Google Home will say or do: |
Hear about an individual stock | “What is Gilead trading at?” | The current price of XX stock The day’s gain / loss for that stock |
Hear about an index | “What is the S & P 500 trading at?” | The current price of the index The day’s gain / loss for that stock |
Hear about market health | “How are the markets doing?” | Summarize major indices |
Hear about stock price:
|
What was xyzz premarket price?” “What did xyzz open at?” What did xyzz close at?” What is xyzz’s after hour’s price?”Note: You can use ticker symbol or company name. |
The company’s stock price information |
Hear market cap of company |

CNBC Market News
CNBC’s service is basically the same, but you can also ask for CNBC show times. It’s a little less natural, but to hear info from CNBC, you have to open a dialog first:
“OK Google, let me talk to CNBC about the markets.” or “OK Google, I want to talk to CNBC about Google.”
Once in a conversation with CNBC, just ask… What’s CNBC’s take on the markets? What’s the latest business news? What’s going on with <insert your stock pick>? When is<insert your favorite show> on CNBC?
